This small, thatched coaching inn has been at the heart of Ide village life since 1564. The new owners took over in December 2011, and have brought a touch of the city to the village, introducing a modern menu and drinks list to a traditional setting.
Behind the bar you'll find local ales such as Otter and beers from Exeter Brewery, while, in the kitchen, the chefs take the time to prepare everything in-house by hand; salt beef, gravadlax, smoked chicken, soused fish and fresh bread are all made on site using the freshest produce from local suppliers. A seasonally changing menu features organic beef sourced from within a mile of the pub as well as locally sourced fish and regularly changing vegetarian options. Don't miss the Sunday roast served from noon to 4pm; like everything else here it's of the highest quality.
