The Claycutters Arms is a thatched pub that sits in a prominent spot in the centre of the village and boasts plenty of parking. There’s an outdoor seating area with gardens and a log burner inside for when the weather turns colder. Being a true country pub, dogs are welcome in the bar. To start, I tucked into freshly prepared whitebait paired with lemon mayo, while my partner enjoyed tiger prawns with chilli dressing. Tender chicken complemented by mushroom and bacon sauce and accompanied by seasonal vegetables was my next choice. Meanwhile, my partner had Cajun-seasoned sea bass, accompanied by moreish mild salsa. We rounded things off with sticky toffee pudding and a formidable slice of lemon and lime fudge cake. This is a fantastic venue for all, from large groups and in-the-know locals to visitors to the area in search of a great meal.
