Located in the village of Cotford St Luke, just outside Taunton, you’ll find The Chapel – a fantastic bar and restaurant serving top-notch fare. The restaurant is worth a visit for the spectacular venue alone. Housed in a Grade II listed former chapel, the interior boasts magnificent high ceilings, ornate windows and images of Thai culture reflecting the cuisine served by The Chapel’s Thai chefs. There’s even a tuk tuk complete with a table and banquette seating, providing diners with a unique setting in which to enjoy their meal. Add to this the delicious food and great atmosphere and you’ve got more than enough reasons to book a visit.
To sample a variety of dishes, diners can start with a Thai sharing platter, comprising Thai fishcakes, spring rolls, chicken satay, prawn toast, golden bags and tempura prawns. Follow with a hearty bowl of The Chapel’s famous noodles, such as pad kee mao or the ever-popular pad Thai. Flavoursome curries provide another tempting option – try the particularly delicious kaeng massaman, a rich, flavoursome curry cooked with potato and peanuts. Most dishes can be served with a choice of chicken, steak, prawns or tofu, and there’s plenty of choice for vegans and those with a dairy intolerance. There’s also a hand-built wood-fired pizza oven in the bar, so mouth-watering homemade pizzas can be enjoyed in the restaurant or ordered to take away. They also host regular events and live entertainment, making The Chapel a great spot to visit.
