This independently owned pub and restaurant, first licensed in the 1760s and recently awarded the top 5* Food Hygiene Rating, is set in the heart of the village of North Curry, with easy access to the M5 and A358 linking to the A303. The Bird in Hand is a classic traditional pub, and its low-beamed ceilings and open fireplace create a warm, friendly atmosphere. The bar serves a wide range of drinks including traditional ales; a wine list is available, and there is a range of fresh coffees. The various menus provide something for every appetite and budget, but fresh fish and seafood dishes are a speciality of the house, with produce sourced locally whenever possible. The Bird in Hand is close to the Willow and Wetlands Visitor Centre and boasts easy access to many of Somerset's main tourist attractions. North Curry itself is a lovely village, and a stroll to the rear of the nearby Church of St Peter & St Paul affords panoramic views over the Somerset Levels.
