The Swan at Kingston
Traditional

A real heart of the community, The Swan at Kingston offers a warm welcome to locals and visitors alike. Attractively decorated, with squashy armchairs by a roaring fire, painted stone walls and exposed wooden beams, this venue is bursting with traditional charm. In warmer months the verdant beer garden is also delightful, and guests planning private parties can book a small marquee for their exclusive use. For a more casual evening with friends, the pub’s fresh new seasonal menu and extremely talented chef make dining here an irresistible proposition.
I couldn’t resist starting with breaded Brie with cranberry sauce, while my wife chose the deliciously rich, coarse farmhouse pâté with apple and ale chutney. After the mouth-watering starters, we moved on to equally tasty mains. For me, a juicy 7oz sirloin steak cooked to perfection, served with on-the-vine tomatoes, flat mushrooms, crisp hand-cut chunky chips and homemade peppercorn sauce. My wife opted for flavoursome pan-fried salmon fillet with crushed lemon and herb
potatoes. To indulge a sweet-tooth we finished with a beautifully smooth and light vanilla panna cotta with raspberries and a heavenly sticky toffee pudding. After a truly excellent experience overall, we can’t recommend The Swan at Kingston highly enough.
