Just a short drive from Exmoor National Park will bring you to the beautiful village of Milverton, where The Globe occupies a 300-year-old, Grade II listed building, refurbished with contemporary elegance. The Globe has an excellent reputation for its food - one taste and you'll be in no doubt as to why this place was awarded an AA rosette, features in The Which? Good Food Guide and the Trencherman's Guide, and was placed in the top ten for Sunday lunch on the Somerset Food Magazine's list.
A wide selection of local beverages is available, from Miles tea and coffee to the famous Sheppy's cider and the real ales of Cotleigh and Exmoor, amongst others. These accompany a menu that's packed with locally sourced ingredients - something the owners are very particular about. Try mouth-watering slowroasted belly of Gloucester Old Spot pork, glazed with honey, or the pan-roasted guinea fowl supreme with wild mushrooms and pancetta. Everything is homemade, including the sauces, bread and all of the scrumptious desserts; The Globe's sticky toffee pudding is commonly considered the best in the area.
The terrace provides the opportunity for relaxed alfresco dining. The Globe also offers two beautifully decorated en-suite bedrooms, so if you're looking for an ideal base for a weekend spent exploring the delights of Somerset, this is it
