A quirky café, Lavender Bakehouse & Coffee Shop serves homemade delights, created on-site using produce procured from the local area.
Customers are welcome to eat in, or take their food away. We opted to eat in, and shared a meze platter for our starter. Comprising five bowls of delicious deli items, it was accompanied by crusty, freshly baked bread and was a wonderful start to our meal. This was promptly followed by a scrumptious chimichurri steak sandwich for me, while my companion opted for eggs Benedict from the selection of specials - a perfectly toasted, buttery English muffin topped with a soft poached egg and lashings of Hollandaise sauce. Although we were too full to sample from the dessert menu, we were incredibly tempted by the homemade chocolate and beetroot cake and may have to make a return visit to give it a try. In addition to cakes and other freshly baked sweet treats, which can also be ordered for special occasions, there is a popular afternoon cream tea, for which booking is required.
After you've eaten your fill, why not pop upstairs and browse the gift shop and its seasonally changing range of furniture pieces, jewellery, cards and other unique trinkets - you're sure to find something for that special someone.
