Soon after arriving, you'll realise The Blagdon Inn is no ordinary pub. Steeped in history, this traditional inn offers interesting and ever-changing menus filled with fine cuisine. Daily blackboards feature locally caught fresh fish and there is also a contemporary bar menu. The spacious patio garden allows you to enjoy alfresco dining, while the cosy atmosphere found inside boasts open fires for those cold winter days.

Fully refurbished for 2011, The Blagdon Inn has undergone a £140,000 internal renovation and now invites guests to enjoy the new contemporary look while they tuck into fresh dishes from the new head chef. Alongside the menu of locally sourced produce there is an exceptional wine list. Don't miss the traditional Sunday roast, or, for some mid-week indulgence, try the set menu on offer from Monday to Thursday, priced at just £11.95 for two courses.

The function room is the ideal venue for weddings, parties, confeThe Blagdon Inn looks like a quintessentially English pub from the outside, and, once you step through its doors into its olde-worlde surrounds, you'll enjoy a truly warm Devon welcome, as well as discovering a destination steeped in a fascinating and haunting history dating back to the 15th century.

A beautiful example of a traditional thatched Devon building, The Blagdon Inn started life as a barn. Latterly, it was extended to include stabling and, after enjoying various incarnations, it's now the ever-popular Blagdon Inn we know today. You are assured excellent service, traditional fine dining and a deliciously tempting menu which features locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. Perhaps start with a great pub classic, such as homemade soup, Arbroath smokie fishcakes, or pork, apple and Calvados paté. For the main course, you can indulge in steaks from the grill, a selection of tapas, hot and sizzling fajitas, homemade shortcrust pastry pies and burgers, as well as a range of healthier options too. And, of course, no great meal is complete without dessert, so be sure to finish off with some delicious handmade sweet treats.

There is also a renowned carvery served both on Wednesday evenings and Sundays all day, with prices starting from just £5 per person. Why not take a seat in the charming patio and enjoy a little Devon sunshine whilst you dine al fresco; cosy log fires will be ready for when the winter hits. The Blagdon Inn is the perfect place to socialise with friends and family, and to escape the world while sampling some great-tasting traditional home cooking and a delectable selection of wines, real ales and spirits (of both the alcoholic and ghostly variety).

Furthermore, The Blagdon Inn is a destination of choice when it comes to hosting weddings, parties and business events (for up to 100 people) thanks to its superb location on the outskirts of Paignton. Great facilities, such as a private bar, full business packages, on-site catering, entertainment and nearby accommodation make The Blagdon Inn a special venue regardless of whether your event is for business or pleasure.
