Only one mile inland from the World Heritage Site, Jurrasic Coast, and ensconced in the charming village of Kimmeridge is the family-run Clavell’s Café & Restaurant. The focus is on serving delicious food at an attractive price, and ensuring that all customers leave with a smile on their face, intent on returning.
Being able to track ingredients from field to fork is important at this venue, and all lamb, pork, beef and venison dishes are lovingly made from meat reared on the family farm. Fish and shellfish are caught in Kimmeridge Bay and all other produce is sourced locally wherever possible. The daytime menu is imaginative and relaxed, as are the homemade breakfasts, tempting lunch options and traditional afternoon teas. The evening menu oozes culinary splendour, with everything from terrines to their famous lobster Thermidor sure to delight.
Thanks to the high standards at Clavell’s Café & Restaurant, it has received numerous accolades, including being named the Best Café or Tearoom at the Taste of Dorset awards in 2013, and achieving a Gold Award at the Taste of West awards in 2014. It has also received critical acclaim – head to TripAdvisor and you’ll find a plethora of reviews singing the venue’s praises.
