A warm welcome awaits at the Railway Inn, which has been the hub of Sandford for over 140 years. The pub is charmingly decorated with artefacts and photos that depict the pub’s cider-making heritage. Treat yourself to a delicious meal in the restaurant, have a snack in the cosy bar, or simply enjoy a pint of cider. The enthusiastic front-of-house team is happy to go the extra mile to ensure that every guest has a memorable visit. The food served features regional and seasonal ingredients from local producers, with a strong emphasis on great quality, great taste and sensible prices. Favourites on the menu include cider-battered fish and chips, and sticky toffee pudding with homemade ice cream.
The drinks menu is also carefully chosen, with a full range of cider from Thatchers, as well as plenty of beer, wine and soft drinks.
The Railway Inn benefi ts from being close to the Strawberry Line, a popular footpath with walkers and cyclists, and provides a welcome break for those venturing along it. Dogs are very much welcome, and are greeted with complimentary dog treats, although since this doesn’t suit everyone, the formal restaurant area is dog-free. Take a look at the Railway Inn Facebook page for news about special events taking place throughout the year.
