The Westberry Hotel not only has a central location in Cornwall, making it an ideal base from which to explore Bodmin Moor and the wonderful Cornish coast with all of its attractions, but also boasts a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and comes highly rated on both Booking.com and Trivago. The TripAdvisor award places it in the top ten per cent of businesses worldwide in terms of hospitality and performance. The hotel’s stylish restaurant is certainly worth a visit, with a menu offering both authentic Oriental cuisine and fabulous local and European dishes.
One of the most popular starters is the Thai sharing platter, featuring chicken and lamb satay, vegetable spring rolls, Thai fishcakes, pork wonton and sesame prawn toast – a fabulous combination of flavours, complemented by a trio of dips. Main courses showcase flavoursome Oriental dishes such as crispy fillets of sea bass and juicy prawns served with stir-fried pak choi chow mein and a sweet chilli and ginger sauce, Barbary duck breast with caramelised pear and Madeira sauce, and wholesome classics such as delicious homemade steak-and-ale pie. To finish, choose between some very special liqueur ice creams, more traditional desserts such as fresh fruit Pavlova, or a filling savoury cheese platter. The Sunday lunchtime carvery (served during the winter months only) offers exceptional value at only £9.50, and its newly-launched summer companion, the lunchtime Oriental buffet, is expected to prove equally popular.
