The owners of The Culm Valley Inn describe it as a funky country pub, but it also features plenty of touches that you’d expect to find in an authentic country inn. Step inside the bar to be greeted by the warm glow of traditional wood burners, tasteful decor, comfortable seating and off-beat art. As you move through to the restaurant, there are more weird and wonderful sights to behold, from a giant model dodo to taxidermy and stunning rustic antique furniture. The menu is fantastically well thought out, with something for everyone. We were assured that the head chef sources everything locally and uses as many artisan suppliers as possible to create his mouth-watering dishes. There are world wines, locally crafted beers and organic soft drinks, too. Add to this newly renovated bedrooms, which are now offered on a bed and breakfast basis, and you’ll see that The Culm Valley Inn is really rather special.
The team understands that a good night’s sleep is essential and works hard to ensure you’ll remember your stay for all the right reasons. The unique, eclectic collection of antique furnishings combines the luxurious with the eccentric, with the majority of the furnishings supplied by renowned antique dealers Stag and Squire. Awake feeling refreshed and prepared, either for your day of exploration or for your contented journey home.
