Chinese cuisine isn’t far out of reach for Devonians thanks to China Orchids, located on the High Street in Cullompton, with easy street parking outside the restaurant. Housed in a Grade II listed building, you’ll find the Bamboo bar serving up exotic tipples, and painted murals on the walls. Having opened in 2003, the team has an abundance of experience when it comes to customer service and ensuring guests feel comfortable. The Orchid, Peony and Chrysanthemum dining rooms offer a spacious, intimate setting where you’ll be served a range of traditional dishes.

Head chef Robby Ho offers the best Cantonese, Peking and Szechuan cuisine, and for him, cooking Chinese food comes naturally. Choosing what to order proves tricky due to the extensive, lip-smacking menu but your Chinese feast may begin with steamed dim sum, barbecue spare ribs and crispy pancake rolls. You might add special fried rice and stir fry before ordering the likes of twice-cooked pork, crispy shredded beef and sweet and sour chicken. Lobster dishes can even be served if ordered in advance. You might not have enough room, but if you do, round off your feast with classic peach Melba or pineapple fritter in syrup.

With an à la carte dinner menu, special set meals and a full takeaway menu, China Orchids can cater for all dining needs, whether that be a romantic supper for two, or a tasty meal to enjoy in the comfort of your own home (delivery services available Sunday to Thursday only).
