The Lamb and Flag
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
The Lamb and Flag can be found tucked away on Batt's Lane, a small back road off Ottery's main street. The building dates back to the 16th Century, when it was built as a respite centre for the builders of nearby St Mary's church. The Lamb and Flag offers a gastropub-style menu with starters such as coconut-breaded king prawns and Caesar salad (also available as a main course). Notable mains include hot and spicy 'fire cracker' steak salad, a Mediterranean mezze platter and changing vegetarian options. Desserts are all homemade by head chef Angie, Ron's wife, and can change daily, but expect classics like strawberry Pavlova, tiramisu, a gorgeous sticky toffee pudding, creme brulée, and a full cheeseboard. Call in for a round of darts or pool, watch some live music, or even try a bit of singing yourself at a karaoke evening. Private functions can happily be arranged with no room hire cost.
