Ice cream doesn't come much fresher than that made by The Cotswold Ice Cream Company, who aim to get the milk 'from cow to carton' in just one day. It's no wonder ice cream lovers flock to enjoy the delicious flavours at the creamery where it's made. The company is owned by the Slatter family, who have farmed in Farmington, just outside Northleach, for almost 90 years.

The Cotswold Ice Cream Company uses ingredients that are approved by the Fairtrade Foundation wherever possible - seven of their eight flavours are Fairtrade accredited. The ice cream is made in the artisan tradition; created in small batches with the highest-quality ingredients to ensure subtlety of flavour. They grind their own espresso beans for their cappuccino flavour and split their specially imported vanilla pods for their vanilla-bean ice cream, producing exceptional results. Working with local chefs to find flavours that complement their menus, they also specialise in bespoke varieties, tailored to the individual needs of their customers.

Ice cream is available in 125ml, 500ml and 4.5 litres sizes, and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the ice cream parlour serves cones and Fairtrade tea and coffee (open 11am to 5pm, from Easter until the end of October). With so many decadent flavours to choose from, the only thing you need to worry about is having a large enough cool box to take it all home.
