Just two minutes' walk from Polperro's picturesque fishing harbour is where you'll find this exceptional seafood restaurant. Michelle's husband Tim spends his days out at sea hauling in fresh scallops, seafood and fish from his two boats, Karen Marie and Celestial Dawn - you might see them bobbing in the harbour as you explore this pretty Cornish village. It's Tim's catch that dictates the specials board in Michelle's Restaurant. Michelle is a self-taught chef with natural culinary flair, and this restaurant is something really personal. Everything is freshly prepared and homemade by Michelle's fair hands - from succulent scallop dishes and popular seafood chowder to classic desserts like strawberry cheesecake (made, of course, with in-season British strawberries). There are even a few Thai dishes gracing the menu, inspired by her travels abroad, as well dishes for vegetarians and meat options for carnivores. But, if you ask me, plump for the fish pie and a crisp glass of wine and you'll be in heaven
