Fredericks Restaurant at The Carlton
British

Meyrick Road, East Overcliff, Bournemouth, BH1 3DN

Bournemouth's East Cliff sits The Carlton, a stylish, four-star hotel boasting stunning sea views, 76 spacious guest rooms and an award-winning restaurant, Frederick's. Frederick's has grand ceilings and bold pillars, with tall windows looking out over the beach, and is the height of sophistication.
From the moment you step inside you will be treated to the VIP experience; the staff are warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is as luxurious as the surroundings. Our meal started with rolls of monkfish to refresh the palate, and crunchy yet juicy deep-fried king prawns. To follow was a main of tournedos of beef, with a satisfyingly soft rouge centre that melted in the mouth. From the many options on the generous dessert menu, we landed on the baked raspberry meringue and the indulgent layered trio of chocolate. Both desserts were served with delectable ice creams; the cracked black pepper ice cream had a pleasing fiery finish, while the sweetness of the banana ice cream contrasted beautifully with the richness of the chocolate. We mulled over our evening in the lounge over a cup of coffee, and concluded that a meal at Frederick's is more than just a meal; it is an experience to remember
