Five years ago, two chefs with over 40 years of cooking experience between them set up shop at this charming country pub in Priston. The Ring O'Bells quickly became known for its first-rate food, and now has a loyal following from the locale as well as nearby Keynsham, Bath and Bristol. City folk come here for a taste of the leisurely country life, and locals come back because they know they can rely on chef Alan Thomas and his team to serve up simple, honest dishes featuring the best produce procured from the local area.
The team are big believers in letting the flavours of the fresh, local ingredients speak for themselves, so you won't find anything overly fussy on the menu, just classic dishes cooked to the highest standard. Everything is made in-house, including fresh bread. Alongside British favourites, the bill of fare features Asian influences - in fact, the Thai red curry is one of the most popular dishes on the menu. The juicy steaks are highly recommended, as are the fresh fish dishes. You might also find game and deer on offer as well when in season.
Of course, this being a traditional, 19th-Century country pub, you're more than welcome to simply stop by for a drink in the bar, which is well-stocked with beers, ales, ciders and wines. What's more, there are well-appointed bed-and-breakfast rooms to stay in if you just can't bear to leave the cosy environs of the Ring O'Bells just yet
