Since opening, this family-run restaurant has remained true to its ethos of providing contemporary Italian food made with the finest ingredients, served by a friendly and attentive team. The Aqua kitchen team sources cured meats and Italian produce directly from Italy, whilst local suppliers fulfil all of their meat, fish and vegetable needs.

The glorious setting for Aqua’s Bath restaurant is a beautifully restored former Arts and Crafts church house which exudes a cool, elegant atmosphere. Choose to dine in the large, theatrical main dining area, or one of the other, more intimate dining areas, which are ideal for private parties.

Being Italian, the mouth-watering seasonal menus boast a range of big, bold flavours. On the extensive à la carte menu, you’ll struggle to choose between lobster served with pomodoro, sundried tomato and mascarpone linguine, and delicious eight-hour-braised pork cheek with mashed potato, black pudding fritter and red wine jus. You’ll also find especially delectable sourdough pizza on offer. For those visiting earlier in the day there is a lunch and early dinner menu served from noon to 7pm, Monday to Friday. This early-bird menu includes flavoursome dishes like arancini with truffle pecorino, mussels with Marsala and cream, and spinach, cavolo nero, leek and pea risotto. If you’re too early for lunch, Aqua is also open for breakfast and coffee from 9.30am every day.

Sunday lunch is a must at Aqua with a scrumptious choice of roast strip loin of beef, pork belly stuffed with apricot and sage, spatchcock chicken or Mediterranean vegetable strudel with tomato oil. To accompany your meal choose from a well-considered wine list with options ranging from a rich, crisp Soave, to a dark and brooding primitivo. If this doesn’t tickle your fancy, Bellinis are £7 from noon to 7pm every day, and the cocktail list includes classics such as Pink Gin Fizz, Italian Pornstar Martini and Cosmopolitan.
