Sitting along the route between Henley and Marlow, just a short amble away from the River Thames, this quaint 14th-Century inn is the epitome of a good English pub. A friendly welcome awaits all those who visit, after which you'll be invited to peruse the delightful menu which lists something to suit every palate. It includes everything from classics such as homemade pies to delicacies like baked Camembert. Each meal is made with the freshest seasonal produce, sourced locally where possible. We ordered goat's cheese and red onion tart and chicken liver parfait to start, followed by fish and chips and pan-fried duck with gooseberry jus and buttered fine beans. Each dish was delicately presented and of excellent quality. I adored the homemade chutney, which complemented the chicken liver parfait so perfectly, and wished that I had a stock of it at home. Well worth a visit.
