Although attached to The Ball & Wicket pub, The Bistro is a completely separate dining room overlooking the cricket pitch in Upper Hale. It is independently run by New York chef Christopher McTighe, who has brought with him a fresh outlook on traditional cooking - adding his own contemporary twists and creating unique and creative specials.
Chris' menu ranges from comforting classics, such as award-winning bangers and mash and chicken pot pie, to freshly made guacamole and melt-in-themouth aged rib-eye steak. Chris is also famed for his burgers. Borne out of his frustration at being unable to find a truly great burger when he arrived in the UK, he created his own closely guarded recipe. These burgers were quickly dubbed 'the best burgers in the UK' by his discerning clientele, aged from seven to 70. The relaxed atmosphere of The Bistro lends itself perfectly to a leisurely lunch, then transforms to accommodate cosy candlelit intimacy in the evenings.
With over 25 years' experience as an international chef, Chris prides himself on using only the freshest, finest-quality, locally sourced ingredients. He has a clear mission - to provide excellent food at a reasonable price - and his passion for his craft can undisputedly be tasted in every bite.
