The Blue Bell is a family-run country pub that aims to produce the best homemade food in the area, and to provide excellent service and a warm atmosphere for all to enjoy - and its owners are certainly succeeding on all fronts. Set in two acres of peaceful countryside, with lots of public rambling and walking routes nearby, this is a free house that serves what it likes, when it likes; continually creating new dishes using as many fresh local ingredients as possible. On draught are local real ales such as Hogs Back TEA (Traditional English Ale) and FFF Moondance, as well as their very own Blue Bell Bitter, all perfectly kept. A real open log fire is put to good use over the winter period, and the children's play area is huge and made solely from wood, with plenty of apparatus to ensure the little ones (and the parents too) are kept happy.
Every Sunday The Blue Bell offers a choice of at least two roasts, serving only the best sirloin of beef along with the delicious pub menu. Everything here is homemade and freshly prepared - even the sauces are made from their own stocks. The specials board is changed nearly every day, and the chefs listen to what customers would like to see and taste. Try the exquisite handmade burgers or something from the fresh fish menu served on Fridays - perhaps traditional fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce and mushy peas. Save room for dessert though, because every delicious one is made on site from scratch.
The Blue Bell boasts a large beer garden, seating over 100, plus a private dining room seating approximately 25 and an old-fashioned snug room perfect for special occasions. This is one of the few independent family-run pubs left in the South East, and it is The Blue Bell team's passion to make sure you thoroughly enjoy your experience here.
