The Mulberry Restaurant
Modern British

The Mulberry Restaurant at Oatlands Park Hotel was refurbished in 2016 to reflect modern design and elegant style. You’ll find high ceilings, tasteful decor and impressive floor-to-ceiling Georgian windows, from the new bar and reception through to the grand Mulberry restaurant. Here you can look out on to the beautifully kept gardens, still in bloom in late summer – the perfect spot for afternoon tea, an elegant meal or a special celebration.
Menus present British cuisine at its finest, offering both classic and modern fare for diners to delight in. The menu changes regularly due to seasonality, making masterful use of the seasonal, local produce that’s abundant in Surrey. As we perused the impressive menu, we enjoyed a selection of appetisers, and a virgin passion fruit Mojito which tasted as good as it looked – the talented bar manager clearly takes pride in spectacular presentation.
To start, my partner plumped for the delicious chicken liver pâté with fruit chutney and toasted brioche, while I devoured harissa-spiced couscous with prawns and pineapple – the perfect start to our evening of culinary delights. Next, the decadent and generously proportioned truffle oil gnocchi with Parmesan and cream sauce did not disappoint as my partner declared it a total triumph. Ordering from the selection of British classics, I enjoyed roast spring chicken with buttery mash, green beans and tarragon jus – a perfectly seasoned interpretation of indulgent comfort food. An evening at The Mulberry wouldn’t be complete without dessert and we opted to share the raspberry sorbet and fresh fruits, as well as the blackberry crumble with vanilla ice cream. This impressive setting now plays host to a hugely popular Sunday carvery with a live jazz band, although due to its popularity booking in advance is essential.
This beautiful Surrey hotel is also a popular spot for weddings and corporate events; the experienced team will be more than happy to help tailor and organise your event. Adding to its ambience, the venue has a rich and interesting history which adds to its decadence as it stands on the site of Oatlands Palace, a former home of Anne of Cleves and where Henry VIII married Katherine Howard. Whether you’re popping in for a drink, afternoon tea or a three-course meal, The Mulberry at Oatlands Park Hotel ticks every box.
