The Cooden Beach Hotel
Traditional
The Cooden Beach Hotel occupies an enviable position overlooking the beach. We were welcomed by an hotel manager and treated to a full tour including the Tavern Kitchen restaurant, the state-of-the-art leisure suite, the well-appointed function rooms and even one of the recently refurbished bedrooms. We dined in Cooden Beach Brasserie, admiring its expansive views of the beach. To start, we tucked into juicy pan-fried scallops with crispy pancetta, and tender pan-fried fillet steak strips. We followed this with flavoursome venison haunch and perfectly cooked Dover sole with vegetables and crisp skinny fries. To finish, we indulged in a delectable crème brûlée and an extremely large candyfl oss sundae, followed by velvety smooth coffee. Not only were the dishes exquisitely cooked by chef Michael Smith, but the pleasant ambience and our waiter Andre’s flair came together to form the perfect evening.
