You can find The Royal Oak in the New Forest, just one mile from the picturesque town of Fordingbridge. The pub is known for its fantastic food and friendly service, so if you’re in the Fordingbridge area, The Royal Oak should be on your radar. You can expect a cosy setting in winter with a welcoming fire and plenty of intimate corners, while the well-kept beer garden is perfect for those hot summer days – you can even bring your four-legged friend along. This popular pub is full of character and provides a warm welcome to all.

Executive chef Paul Somerville has over 25 years experience and has twice been crowned Chef of the Year at the Dumfries and Galloway Life Awards, and forms a winning team with head chef Charlie Ellen. At the Royal Oak he’s created a menu that offers fresh, seasonal British pub food with modern flair. For starters, the beetroot and blue cheese risotto comes highly recommended, as does the crab and crayfish lasagne served with garlic bread. Move on to the mains and prepare to revel in sumptuous flavours and mouth-watering textures. The roast rump of lamb served with Dauphinoise potatoes, wild mushroom and Port jus is a firm favourite, while the fillet of hake and crayfish accompanied by new potatoes, seasonal vegetables and garlic butter is sure to please. Desserts are certainly worth saving room for – the plum tart with vanilla ice cream and toffee sauce is a real winner. You can also find a selection of pub classics including mouth-watering steak burgers and homemade pies, alongside a splendid light bites and Sunday lunch menu. Specials are available daily and change regularly to make use of the seasonal, local produce that the New Forest offers.

The bar hosts local Ringwood Best Bitter and rotates guest ales twice a week, so there are plenty of reasons to return to The Royal Oak. Durello – a refreshing alternative to Prosecco – is also served. This pub receives praise for its impeccable, friendly service and delicious food, giving diners just what they want. Your first visit to this wonderful pub is guaranteed to be one of many.
