Housed in a Tudor yeoman’s house, The Quills is just a stone’s throw from the castle and the cathedral in Rochester. Here it is all about real food made using great quality ingredients, whether you choose to dine in the restaurant or the café, as The Quills is split into two distinct areas. You might choose to savour a freshly brewed Italian coffee, deliciously fresh pastry or hot lunchtime panini in the light and airy café, or take a seat in the more historic restaurant, complete with chunky wooden furniture and low, old beams. Food at The Quills is made with love. All the veg comes from a local farm supplier and portions are hearty. You simply must try one of the burgers – the chorizo and Manchego option is particularly popular and veggies love the chilli and lime falafel. Breakfast is a big event too, with everything from maple and bacon waffles to poached eggs with spinach on offer. Whatever mood you’re in, The Quills is sure to please.
