Seasons Restaurant
British
The Hilton Maidstone is located just minutes from the town centre, making it an excellent venue in which to stay and explore Kent. However, there is more than one reason to visit this hotel. You don’t have to be staying overnight to pay a visit to Seasons Restaurant, located within the hotel, and I certainly suggest you do.
The menu offers a good variety of dishes to satisfy a range of tastes and appetites. To begin, my wife enjoyed succulent pan-seared scallops, accompanied by quail’s egg and superb mint pea purée, while I opted for a well-crafted smoked chicken and duck salad, which was beautifully enhanced by raspberry vinaigrette.
There were several main courses we were tempted by, including the intriguing smoked salmon and vodka tagliatelle, but after consulting our helpful waiter, we plumped for two of the chef’s signature dishes. My wife selected perfectly tender lamb shank served with roasted vegetables and rosemary. I chose medallions of beef forestiere – a stack of succulent beef presented on top of exquisitely seasoned creamy mashed potato and green beans – and it was divine. Both desserts were light yet flavoursome. The lemon posset was subtly flavoured and not too sharp, complemented superbly by a sweet and crumbly shortbread biscuit, while the passion fruit cheesecake was an equally refreshing way to end the meal. Thanks to quality, well-presented food in pleasant surroundings with friendly service, we spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening at Seasons Restaurant and would recommend it to friends.
