The Walnut Tree

Hosts Chris and Grace at The Walnut Tree share a passion for good food, warm hospitality and the community around them. This is a gorgeous country pub, truly at the heart of Bourne End. Every year the duo organises two charity fairs. When it comes to the food Chris is a creative chef and a bit of a perfectionist, as demonstrated in my delicious home-cured beetroot salmon gravlax and exceptionally delicious moules marinières in a creamy white wine sauce. Everything is fresh and home cooked and if you have a dietary requirement, Chris will conjure up something special just for you. There are offers on throughout the week, including tapas Tuesday, pizza and pasta Thursday, and a hearty roast on Sunday. Food is served in the traditional bar as well as in the restaurant, and there is a private function room, which can cater for up to 16 people for a sit-down meal. The Walnut Tree is a popular spot for those walking the nearby Thames path, and dogs are welcomed in the bar.
