Once an Old Mill, The Ship Inn is now a popular pub and purveyor of excellent seasonal fare. Open from 9.30am daily for breakfast and coffee, The Ship Inn is the perfect location for walkers and visitors to stop off and enjoy the views. A wonderful pub for all seasons, The Ship Inn boasts a large outdoor area – the ideal spot in which to watch local wildlife – and on rainy days guests can warm up by the fire and enjoy board games with friends.

Choose to dine in the upstairs restaurant or downstairs bar area. The fresh food menu is served from noon every day; you might start with pan-seared tiger prawns with chilli and coriander, or a caramelised shallot and thyme tart with grilled goat’s cheese. For mains choose from Frontier-battered fish and house chips or malt and barley smoked cod with Charlotte potatoes, wilted spinach and chive butter sauce. If fish doesn’t excite you, there’s a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan options, like the delightful butternut squash and sweet potato tagine with apricot and toasted almond couscous, while tasty meat options include yassa-marinated pork rib-eye with spiced corn on the cob and sweet potato fries. To finish, sample the Vintage Ale sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and Fuller’s buffalo milk salted caramel ice cream or the ever-popular Paul’s chocolate brownie.
