The Black Bison Kitchen & Bar
Bar-Restaurant

If you’re searching for delicious home-cooked food, beautifully presented, look no further than The Black Bison Kitchen & Bar. Situated on the outskirts of historic Guildford, this is the place to relax on sunny days and frosty evenings alike.
In the summer the garden comes into its own with ample seating and outside bar and play equipment, including a mock-Tudor playhouse. Inside the modern, stylish decor provides a welcome retreat to enjoy lunch, dinner or drinks. The lunch menu offers a wide selection of main courses, salads, and sandwiches, all served on locally baked artisan breads, while the bar menu offers a mouth-watering selection of tasty sliders, jacket potatoes, potato skins and homemade quiche.
From the set evening and specials menu we enjoyed the pan-fried scallops on pork belly cubes, pea purée and tendril pea shoots, as well as the melt-in-the-mouth wild mushroom risotto with truffle oil. For our mains I experienced their celebrated bison steak served with hand-cut chips, mushroom tomato and watercress while my friend enjoyed the surf and turf 5oz rump steak with garlic prawns, mashed potato, green beans and peppercorn sauce. Spoilt for choice on puddings, we chose the brioche bread and butter pudding with orange crème anglaise and vanilla ice cream, and the apple, rhubarb and cinnamon crumble.
