You'll find this pub in a pleasant green spot on the Hampshire and West Sussex border. Thanks to its lovely location, it has developed a loyal following of regulars from both counties. Anne and Barry Coe have owned The Jolly Drover for 20 years now, and their experience and commitment shines through in both the service and food. My baked Camembert starter was wonderfully offset by The Jolly Drover's spicy own-label chutney, and my companion's plentiful serving of deep-fried whitebait was delicately seasoned. To follow, my trout was cooked with absolute precision, and, across the table, a classic plate of ham, egg and chips went down nicely. The end of our meal was signalled by a lime and apricot tart, which has been a winner of one of the 'sweet meetings' evenings where diners get to sample and score several puddings. It certainly got our vote
