The Three Horseshoes is a traditional country inn boasting welcoming, attentive service and superb food. The team at this charming establishment takes pride in sourcing ingredients from local suppliers and the farm next door for use in dishes on their inventive seasonal menu.
Having been a coaching inn for much of its 200-year life, The Three Horseshoes simply oozes character; in winter there are inglenook log fires and flickering candles, while in summer a secluded courtyard and pretty garden provide the perfect spot for al fresco dining or a pre-dinner drink. The chef is a young Australian full of enthusiasm - he has come from one- and two-Michelin-starred kitchens, and is keen to make his mark on The Three Horseshoes. He's already received excellent reviews.
Try the delicious best end of Hampshire spring lamb finished with tarragon and tomato jus - the meat is of an exceptional quality, while the accompanying slowly caramelised garlic mash and braised red cabbage are heavenly. Alternatively, take comfort in the traditional steak and ale pie, a proper pie served with beautifully rich London Pride gravy. But remember to save space for a delicious dessert, with every element homemade, to top off your experience in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Five lovely letting rooms are also available (visit the website for further details)
