The kitchen team’s creativity shines through in every dish, and locally sourced seasonal produce takes pride of place. The daily changing lunch menu may include the like soft shell crab with cucumber and wasabi mayonnaise followed by salmon loin with squid ink pasta, mussels and samphire. Earl Grey tea junket enhanced by black pepper granola and burnt honey is the perfect way to conclude a truly unique lunchtime treat. Priced at £22 for two courses and £25 for three, this innovative and memorable dining experience needn’t break the bank. The à la carte showcases modern plates and seasonal classics presented with flair throughout the day. Visit for dinner and sample starters such as king scallops with chestnut velouté, bottarga and wood sorrel, and pigeon breast accompanied by smoked feta, hazelnuts and pickled beetroot. The main courses are equally imaginative, ranging from Gorgonzola and basil gnocchi finished with fresh pesto, pine nuts, kale and a crispy hen’s egg to spiced loin of venison accompanied by a sausage roll, Dauphinoise potatoes, medlar purée, charred pickled shallot and mustard collard greens. Sides such as triple-cooked chips with paprika salt and glazed Chantenay carrots complete the selection. A number of vegetarian and vegan dishes can be found on the menu, including the likes of pulled mushroom and salt-baked celeriac suet pudding served with roast hispi cabbage, pickled walnuts and an oat cream velouté.

An impressive selection of wine and sparkling wine from around the world can be found on the extensive drinks list and the team prides itself on serving a number of alcohol-free alternatives.
