Diners at The Quay Taphouse are left with one defi ning question: why have I not been here before? It’s a hidden gem that’s tucked along a vibrant street on North Shields’ quayside. Step inside to enjoy a cosy environment with a jovial buzz, where the most friendly of social gatherings take place. Relaxed and bubbly, The Quay Taphouse offers the perfect social tapas menu to accompany an extensive range of drinks.
The food is sourced locally and takes full advantage of the restaurant's coastal location in the midst of a thriving fishing industry. Encouraged by fellow customers to try the top three best-selling dishes, we sampled potted Shields crab, Spanish-style battered chicken glazed with honey, mustard and soy sauce, and king prawns with chilli and garlic. All of our choices were packed with flavour and nicely varied, ensuring there was something for everyone to graze on. So generously proportioned was the crab that it could have been served as a main meal. If you are looking for value, look no further than the offer of three tapas dishes and a bottle of wine for just £19.95.
The Quay Taphouse seamlessly creates an ambience in which spending time together and catching up over shared food is a priority.
