Humble Grape - Battersea
Bar-Restaurant
Humble Grape, an independent London wine merchant, wine bar and restaurant, occupies four venues across the city, with a fifth site open in Canary Wharf as of summer 2019. Each site boasts a similar rustic interior and warm atmosphere, and over 400 wines to choose from.
First and foremost, Humble Grape is an endlessly welcoming space where guests can enjoy the finest wine at reasonable prices. Those less familiar with the world of wine can be sure of an inclusive, easy-going atmosphere, and knowledgeable, charming and down-to-earth staff. Wine is imported directly from independent and sustainable producers, all of whom are very friendly with the Humble Grape team, and provide training to the staff directly.
Each site’s food offering differs to reflect the head chefs’ individual flair, yet all are united by the theme of social eating. You’ll find a tempting mix of small plates and sharing platters, which pair perfectly with the wine list. Some dishes change weekly, yet the firm favourites remain to be enjoyed time and time again – such as the baked Camembert, which you can choose to garnish with honey and hazelnut, garlic and rosemary, or cranberry, Port and thyme. All are equally delectable and served with homemade bread. The weekend brunch is not to be missed, and includes the likes of buttermilk pancakes and warm banana bread with maple-caramelised banana and mascarpone for the sweet-toothed, alongside a selection of traditional and modern savoury options such as eggs Benedict and smashed avocado on toast.
After experiencing the unrivalled selection of wine, outstanding food and warmth of the team, you’re sure to be planning your return before you’ve even left.
