wagamama is the most popular chain of award-winning Japanese noodle restaurants in the country, reflecting their enduring and diverse appeal.
At wagamama, they celebrate consistency and quality in everything they do. Their ethos, developed since the first wagamama opened in London's Bloomsbury in 1992, is 'to combine great, fresh and nutritious food in a sleek yet simple setting with helpful, friendly service and value for money'.
There are now 66 wagamama restaurants around the world, from Holland to Australia - and looking forward, they hope to enjoy the same success in Boston, USA which will open in Spring 2007. wagamama has been short listed by Time Out magazine for the award of 'best family restaurant' as well as also being an official 'cool brand' as voted for by the Coolbrands Council in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006.
In 2005 and 2006, Zagat readers voted wagamama the most popular restaurant in London, beating stiff competition from Nobu and Gordon Ramsey.
Their restaurants are modelled on ramen bars which have been popular in Japan for hundreds of years. The menu consists of side dishes, main meals and desserts. Your order is taken on an electronic handheld device and zapped through to the kitchen by radio signal where it is cooked immediately. In order to ensure freshness, your food is delivered to your table as soon as it is ready. This means different dishes may be delivered at different times. The idea is not to wait - just to tuck in and share.
wagamama is a culinary democracy - business professionals, backpackers, families, students and ladies who lunch are among the millions who continue to enjoy and discover the experience of positive eating and positive living.
