Mint Leaf
Indian and South Asian
Amid the hustle and bustle of St James's sits the family-owned Mint Leaf Restaurant, which opened in 2003 and offers a fine-dining pan-Indian experience in an elegant yet relaxed setting. Our refreshing Mean Thyme and Vieux Carré cocktails whetted our appetites for the explosion of flavours that awaited us. The menu itself presents a variety of regional Indian specialities made using locally sourced produce. We started with the fantastic tandoori sharing platter, laden with chicken tikka, lamb seekh kebab, duck tikka and guinea fowl. To follow, we were delighted by sea bass wrapped in banana leaf, which had subtle hints of coconut and ginger. The roast lamb chops, served with sweet potato, golden onion and black cardamom sauce, were expertly cooked using traditional charcoal, and the chargrilled flavour was perfectly matched with a very smooth glass of pinot noir from New Zealand. Side dishes of yoghurt-marinated broccoli florets and lightly sweetened potato and spinach dumplings were gastronomic delights. To finish, the blueberry kulfi - a summer berry compote - was the perfect palate-cleanser. Wowing customers with flawless service and exceptional menus, Mint Leaf's two venues have cemented themselves as some of London's finest Indian restaurants
