The Wellesley

Situated within The Wellesley, a grand, boutique hotel overlooking Hyde Park, the Oval Restaurant is an exclusive hideaway that seats just 22 diners. Through the interior, diners are transported back to the 1920s. Art Deco-inspired, the Oval Restaurant pays homage to the fi nest traditions of Italian cuisine – the intimate dining room conjures images of a true Italian family feast, with glossy marble and smooth, pastel pink leather adding a touch of luxury. Alongside gourmet pizzas and sumptuous meats from the grill, diners can indulge in bold, signature seafood dishes such as homemade cod brandade ravioli, and salt-crusted wild sea bass accompanied by seasonal vegetables. Decadent Italian desserts include dark chocolate fondant with crunchy hazelnut, and classic tiramisu. 

Remaining true to the building’s rich jazz heritage, The Wellesley hosts weekly live music sessions in the 1920s-style Jazz Lounge. Here, guests are treated to a delicious five-course tasting menu paired with the smooth sound of live jazz. Music requests are encouraged, allowing diners to make the evening even more unique. An à la carte menu is also available upon request. Afternoon tea is served in the Jazz Lounge daily from 2pm and enhanced by the accompanying live pianist. 

Visitors to The Wellesley have the opportunity to experience the largest walk-in cigar humidor in Europe. With dedicated cigar sommeliers, finding the perfect blend of cigar becomes effortless. The hotel’s Crystal Bar is also home to a delicate selection of the finest cognac and whisky.
