Culinary finesse, style and sophistication take centre stage at The Swan, Shakespeare's Globe. Located just seconds from the famous theatre, the Chophouse affords stunning river views. We began with glasses of crisp Testulat Champagne, which preceded some excellent wine choices throughout the meal. There was no sommelier, but there was no need for one - the wines our waitress brought with each course were well chosen and enhanced the cuisine beautifully. Our starters of Isle of Wight tomato, basil and ricotta salad and succulent cod cheeks with chunky toast, led to main courses of T-bone steak with triple-cooked chips - crispy on the outside and light as air on the inside - and Barbary duck breast. Served with pickled red cabbage and fondant potato, the duck was tantalisingly moist. We finished on a high with a rich and creamy chocolate mille-feuille with caramelised calvados apple
