Chinese street-food and noodle bar Cha Cha Moon is a contemporary Chinese hideout. The restaurant features long, padded wooden benches, low-level lighting and a bamboo ceiling, giving the notion of downtown Hong Kong. There's also an alfresco dining area in the courtyard, where the atmosphere is great both in summer and winter. The concept of the restaurant was created by Alan Yau (of wagamama and Hakkasan fame) and delves into the soul of regional Chinese cuisine, as well as other styles of Asian cooking.

There are no starters on the menu - instead, Cha Cha Moon offers a large selection of delicious mains and sides. I sampled the beef ho fun, and the tasty Thai chicken curry, flavoured with onion, ginger and coriander. Lastly, I enjoyed the Thai crunch salad; the chicken was tender and beautifully flavoured due to being previously marinated, and the lime and peanut dressing was delightful. I also had the Szechuan wonton side, which was filled with chicken and prawns - a wonderfully fiery dish.

Cha Cha Moon has an atmosphere that reflects its lively location in Soho, along with an authentic, affordable menu. The Cha Cha Moon experience can also be enjoyed at home by ordering from the takeaway menu. A great addition to the range of Chinese and Asian restaurants in London, this eatery manages to stand out from the crowd
