Flavours of Morocco is a Middle Eastern jewel among the bars and restaurants of Bexley. This bijou restaurant, with excellent TripAdvisor reviews, is an enticing prospect. We certainly couldn't resist the alluring scene presented through the restaurant's lovely large windows - prettily twinkling lights, smiling staff and diners evidently enjoying their food soon had us inside. The interior is a stylish mix of modern design and Moroccan touches and we entered to a vibrant atmosphere, filled with groups celebrating and couples chatting between themselves. We were filled with expectation.
The mezze sharing platter is a great way to start your Moroccan meal and we both decided on authentic tagines for our main courses. The chicken mquali tagine comprised tender chicken in fragrant lemon and coriander sauce with an olive garnish. I relished every mouthful of my lamb, apricot and prune tagine. The slow-cooked lamb was melt-in-the-mouth delicious and beautifully enhanced by the sweet and simultaneously savoury sauce. Both were served with delicate couscous. Desserts of refreshing vanilla ice cream and sticky baklawa went down a treat.
Living up to its name, Flavours of Morocco offers authentic cuisine that will have you visiting time and again. We're already planning a return visit. Booking through the website is highly recommended
