Established for 16 years and found in the most picturesque part of town is a truly authentic Thai eatery - as attested by many of the local Thai community, who come here for the fresh cuisine cooked daily on the premises. The menu provides ample choice and many delicious options for vegetarians. Lunches start from £4.95 - one of the many reasons this lively restaurant is always buzzing. We enjoyed mixed hors d'oeuvres (do ask for the chef's special dipping sauce), followed by spicy chicken in coconut milk with creamy peanut sauce, and the intriguing 'weeping tiger' salad. This comprised sirloin steak grilled with fresh chilli and lemongrass. The steak and accompaniments were quite perfect, and washed down nicely with a crisp Thai white wine. Thai Rack's consistent quality makes it a dependable favourite of local diners who've been visiting since it opened in 1998. There are private function rooms for events and celebrations, and home-delivery and takeaway services are available
