Tims Table II - Rickmansworth

Decorated in modern minimalist black and white, this smart family-run restaurant oozes style, and offers not only excellent Szechuan and Peking cuisines but also Thai. Although rather unconventional, I was delighted to be able to mix and match dishes from all three regions.
Our Thai starter included satay, Thai mussels, spring rolls and chicken cooked and wrapped in green pandan leaves, which we unravelled by hand.
A course of perfect Peking-style crispy aromatic duck with pancakes was followed by Tim's Table special flavoured fish - delicate fillets of fish in a fantastic zesty yellow bean sauce.
With our king prawns with green peppers and black bean sauce we opted for the Three Precious Noodles and the Fried Four Vegetables Ensemble and as a finale, we tried the griddle fried Peking dumplings stuffed with pork. All the dishes were excellent and were washed down with a chilled South African chardonnay from the impressive wine list.
Service throughout was swift and impeccable, overseen by owner Mr Tim's charming daughter. It is easy to see why Tim's Table has become such an established local favourite - it was impossible to fault any aspect of it.
