Nothing beats an amazing roast dinner on a Sunday, and The Globe in Codicote can definitely deliver. We had heard that it had become something of a speciality at this homely village pub, and after a visit of our own, we concur that this reputation is deserved. Despite being recently renovated, this 19th-century pub has retained its homely and welcoming character, but boasts a clean and modern touch. A wide choice of meats adorns the roast menu, which, served with all the trimmings, is exceptional value at £7.95. A visit on any other day of the week will no doubt be equally impressive. Classic pub favourites including sausages and mash and beer-battered fish and chips sit proudly alongside an ever-changing specials board, while Thai cuisine is the fare on offer on Friday and Saturday evenings. More information about events can be found on their Facebook page.
