The Manor is a superb hotel and restaurant in the scenic village of Alconbury, Huntingdonshire. Dating back 300 years, the building has lost none of its original charm - the oak-beamed interior is full of warmth and the friendly staff add to the hospitable ambience. Dining at The Manor is truly memorable, and for all the right reasons - the unique black rock grill offers a rare dining experience. Here, you can order not only your drinks 'on the rocks' but your meal too - food is served with superheated rocks that reach temperatures of 440¬_C to sear in natural juices, flavours and nutrients. Diners simply need cut off bite-sized portions of their chosen meal, flip them onto the rock and cook to their personal tastes. The meat is trimmed of fat and no oil is used in the cooking process, ensuring meals made using the technique are fresh and healthy without conceding on taste. It is included on the lunch menu between noon and 2pm.
A popular evening dish is the rock-grilled rump steak (10oz) which, like all meals served on the rock, comes with some delicious roasted vegetables and a choice of chips, wedges, jacket or new potatoes.
Well known for providing a different dining experience in a traditional setting, The Manor restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience, one you'd be foolish to miss out on.
