White Bull Brasserie

2 Centric Parade, 200 High Road, Loughton, IG10 1DN

The alfresco dining area at the entrance of this recently opened, family-run restaurant in Loughton's main thoroughfare boasts a Continental feel that continues as you progress through the light, spacious interior. Informal, café-style seating, pristine white walls and soft lighting create a modern, elegant atmosphere perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. Dine amongst celebrities as you gaze upon paparazzi snaps of Paul McCartney and Robbie Williams, as well as glittering sequined canvases depicting cartoon characters. All artwork is for sale, with the gallery changing regularly.
Watch the White Bull's London-trained chefs bustling about the spacious open kitchen, preparing dishes such as delicately flavoured celeriac soup enriched with a swirl of truffle oil. During our visit, the European-style menu also offered crispy duck with watermelon, coriander and shiso cress - a very successful harmony of flavours and textures. As a main, my roasted venison with diced carrot mash and tasty chocolate and berry jus was hard to beat, while the popular creme brulée with English raspberries proved a thoroughly worthy finalé. Pop by on a Sunday and enjoy the traditional roast, or, if you're looking to arrange a private celebration, a first-floor room is available for hire. There's no need to venture to London to enjoy first-class cuisine and service - you'll find it all here at the White Bull Brasseri
