On the edge of the historic village of Chigwell you’ll find the exceptionally inviting Two Brewers. Step inside and you’ll discover an open fire, comfortable furniture and a warm atmosphere – The Two Brewers has all of the necessary components for a quintessential country pub.
Dining tables are found in every nook and cranny, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy an intimate meal with their nearest and dearest. On our evening visit we slid into one such private spot. The extensive menu was filled with tempting options, and it took us some time to decide what we wanted to tuck into. My friend began with red pepper and goat’s cheese panna cotta, while I started with pan-fried scallops accompanied by crab fritters and pea purée. Continuing with seafood, I then feasted on devilled sea bass paired with cucumber, mint and pink grapefruit salad. All of the elements complemented each other perfectly and I devoured the meal with gusto. Meanwhile, my friend tucked into braised shoulder of lamb with Dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal veg. Sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream then followed.
Our visit was made all the more wonderful by staff who were both attentive and smiley, and we will definitely be returning soon.
