According to this restaurant's friendly manager, the Hindi word moza loosely translates as 'good atmosphere'. For this stylishly furnished restaurant, next to the cinema in Cambridge Leisure Park, there could not be a more appropriate title.
Tables are spaciously spread around a large buffet focal point that serves 40 types of food at lunchtime for £6.50 and an astounding 60 in the evening. Amongst this vast range are the usual favourites of Indian cuisine, such as chicken tikka masala and naan breads, but also several more interesting and unique starters and curries, such as seafood fritters and xacutti.
The advantage of a buffet is that you can try many different dishes, as opposed to playing it safe with a tried-before dish, as you might at a traditional restaurant. Being able to see everything laid out and go up for more at any time also makes a huge difference to the pace of a meal - instead of being faced with one huge plate of curry, diners can repeatedly load up with whatever size helpings they choose, trying new spices and flavours as the evening progresses.
Especially worthy of note at Moza is the range of desserts. There is an ice cream machine and plenty of jelly to go with it - perfect for children. For those requiring a cleansed palate after an overload of spices, there are several types of fruit from which to construct a customised fruit salad. Offering something that people may not have tried before, the unusual carrot halwa dessert is available - a light biscuit crumble which goes particularly well with ice cream.
Moza is an Indian experience unlike the stereotypical curry house. With a large and ever-changing menu, friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere, it is the perfect place to eat your favourite Indian cuisine or to try out new dishes
