The Anchor Inn team believe in the simplicity of delivering food to the table from the land closest to it, in a way that restores and conserves a natural working landscape. They have taken this concept one step further by creating their own Heritage Farm and kitchen garden, from which the majority of the meat and vegetables served in the restaurant are sourced. By using traditional farming methods, including Suffolk Punch heavy horses to work the land, food production here reflects a less hurried time, when livestock and crops were developed naturally and good old-fashioned flavour was everything. Customers are invited to wander the Heritage Farm to have a close look at the herb and vegetable production, see the livestock - happy and thriving among the rich and diverse wildlife - and enjoy riverside walks. Menus here change throughout the week, offering different styles of food, from the traditional to modern-day simple classics and original creations. A number of signature favourites are always available, including homemade sausages of the day, fish and chips, and the 'Anchor Smoked Platter' - but even these dishes vary to match the best produce available.
