Located along a quaint cobbled side street in the notably picturesque village of Stamford, No.3 The Yard looks every bit the idyllic eatery you would expect from such high acclaim. The considered interior retains the character of the ancient building yet the decor is light and fresh. Alongside the dining room is a conservatory with French doors that open out onto the heated courtyard – a popular place for al fresco dining. Inside, the restaurant is divided into several different eating areas spanning two floors. For quiet evenings away from the hustle and bustle or private parties, opt for one of the more secluded rooms – one seats around eight people and the other up to 20.
When it comes to the food, diners can be assured that only the finest, freshest local ingredients, all prepared with fl air and creativity, make the cut. There’s plenty of choice at No.3 The Yard, whether you’re looking to dine for lunch or dinner. The à la carte menu always has seven starters and seven main courses to choose from. Desserts are plentiful, with a choice of six, alongside a selection of homemade petits fours, and an additional mini dessert and cheese option.
Prices nevertheless are reasonable, starting at just £6.50, and most of the main courses can be adapted for smaller or larger appetites. At lunchtime diners can enjoy two courses from the set menu for just £14.95, and the courtyard has its own exclusive lunch menu that runs alongside the main lunchtime menu. During weekday evenings, the daily specials represent great value, with options such as moules frites and a glass of wine, or fish and chips and a glass of Prosecco priced at £15.
